BWSL EASTER INVITATIONAL USA BASKETBALL 2023 OFFICIAL QUALIFIER

Welcome

USAB 2023 QUALIFIER

The Boo Williams Easter Invitational is a 2023 Official Qualifier to the USA Basketball 2023 U.S. Open Basketball Championships held at the NCAA College Basketball Academy and serves as the pathway for 9th and 10th grade teams to earn their qualifying bid.

It is the responsibility of the head coach to provide age and grade (if applicable) verification for players at any time throughout the event. Permitted forms of player age verification include birth certificates, passports, and government-issued IDs (originals, hard copies, or digital copies). Permitted forms of player grade verification include school-issued report cards or school administrator confirmation of grade issued on school letterhead (originals, hard copies, or digital copies).

Coach License Requirement

All coaches and bench personnel participating in the Official Qualifier divisions must have a valid USA Basketball 2022-23 Gold Coach License on file prior to the start of the event. The coach license process requires successfully passing a background check which generally takes 7-10 business days to process.

To obtain a coach license, visit https://community.usab.com/

It is the responsibility of the head coach to provide verification of coach licensure at any time throughout the event. Once licensed, set your online coach account profile to “public” view for real-time verification of licensure onsite.

Only actively licensed coaches are permitted on the bench to coach.

Team rosters are capped at 10 athletes and 2 coaches, for 12 members total. Rosters are

locked based on the confirmed athletes who played in the qualifier event, with only 2 athlete changes (including additions) permitted.

Athletes must reside within the same state as the team’s official address or within a geographically adjoining state to the team’s official address. International athletes playing on US teams must use an applicable host family or boarding school address within the US. International teams must consist of athletes all from the same country.

An athlete may only appear on one roster in the U.S. Open Basketball Championships and will not be allowed to play for multiple teams.

Minimum grade for players on a roster is 9th grade as of October 1, 2022. All athletes on

confirmed rosters must be registered in the NCAA Eligibility Center.

2023 U.S. Open Basketball Championship teams are participants in the NCAA College Basketball Academy, via the team qualification pathway. If allowed by their state high school association, the NCAA may pay for the actual and necessary expenses of each prospect and one parent/legal guardian or chaperone, plus two coaches per team. Participants (players, coaches and one guardian/chaperone) will undergo off-court educational sessions set up by the NCAA to provide insight about the NCAA recruiting process and playing at the collegiate and professional levels.
